Sunny and warm to close out the week before a major storm hits this weekend

Bloomsday looks rainy and cool, a big shift in the weather pattern makes for a tough 12k.

SPOKANE, Wash. — We are headed into a drier and warmer few days, but enjoy it while you can-- rain and much cooler weather returns this weekend and just in time for Bloomsday. A monster storm will brings a shift back to a much wetter pattern and that coincides with some pretty chilly days. Afternoon highs will struggle to hit 50 degrees Sunday afternoon.

Getting there isn't quite as bad. More sunshine and warmer temperatures are expected Thursday and Friday. Highs will climb from the low 60s to the upper 60s as we close out the workweek. Saturday stays warm but the sun goes away. Temperatures stay near 70 degrees, but that's all ahead of a big shift in the weather pattern.

Rain returns to parts of the Inland Northwest Saturday afternoon. What starts as a few scattered showers in eastern Washington and North Idaho will turn into more widespread rain Saturday night. The rain continues through Sunday, quite heavy at times, before we slide back into our recent pattern of afternoon showers by Monday.

Bloomsday. Bring your rain jacket. Rain, cold, and breezy. It's not looking like it will be the nicest run in recent memory, but instead the worst. Temperatures will hover in the mid 40s through the entirety of the run time. From before the start until after you finish running and walking it's rainy and cold. I tried my best to call for nice weather, I just don't have that Tom Sherry touch.
